OUR VISION
We envision a future where the forests and bird populations of Papua are healthy and free of threat from over-exploitation, and support healthy, productive, and self-actualized indigenous Papuan communities in a sustainable way.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to promote the conservation of the forests and bird populations of Papua by empowering the indigenous people of Papua to live in harmony with and realize sustainable benefit from the forests through:
raising awareness within the local communities of the long-term economic and other benefits of conserving the forests and birds of Papua
developing and promoting ecotourism and other sources of non-extractive or sustainably extractive income for local communities
providing and facilitating educational and training opportunities to enable the local people to benefit from these sources of income
OUR VALUES
We feel that the local people deserve to be treated with respect and fairness. This includes consideration of their lands, property and possessions, and their customs and beliefs. The forest and birds also deserve to be treated with respect and care, with our actions and activities creating as little negative impact as possible.
